International Software Company

Need: Growing pains … we all know how bittersweet they can be. Passing the five-year mark and transitioning from an entrepreneurial venture to a profitable, growing and structured organization is a big leap for some entrepreneurs. In this case, engaging Tacet was the best solution.

Establishing the processes and procedures for every functional area of the organization and putting plans in place in preparation for exponential growth, Tacet collaborated closely with the board and senior management team to help position this client for success.

Global Medical Manufacturer and Distributor

Need: Awaiting FDA approval can sometimes seem like forever. In the case of one Tacet client, the wait was stifling the company’s ability to raise venture capital and deliver on its existing financial commitments.

Solution:

  • Established a new product launch process and shepherded the launch of two new products.
  • Conducted physician and clinical trials as well as customer and competitor research.
  • Identified an industry expansion opportunity and guided entry.
  • Developed and implemented distributor and direct marketing plans, including an online sales channel.

Result: Tacet’s innovative approach resulted in the introduction of a completely different application, expansion into an unrelated industry, plus the deployment of an alliance and distributor network and an online web portal that allowed more immediate revenue generation. An aging product line, 11-year-old technology and a saturated core competency market made this client feel the financial strain of becoming a dinosaur. Without a culture of innovation, they were slow to respond and expensive. They were riding on past differentiators and had one year to build a better mousetrap.

  • Conducted five-month industry research project which directed the company’s strategic planning process.
  • Facilitated strategic planning sessions.

Global Nonprofit Organization

Need: Launch a nonprofit foundation.

A for-profit assistive technology company was successfully growing and wanted to give back to the community it served. Believing that accessibility is a right, not a privilege, it engaged Tacet to develop and implement an organizational launch plan for a nonprofit organization structured as a shared services alliance model for free or dramatically discounted technology for the blind and those with low vision.

Solution:

  • Developed and implemented an organizational launch plan.
  • Orchestrated press conferences and a media relations plan for the nonprofit’s foundation, executive directorship and alliance partner introductions.
  • By attracting a pivotal industry thought leader as the executive director, securing the involvement of key industry influencers and lobbyists, and persuading national technology players such as Microsoft and Lenovo to come on board as inaugural alliances, promotional opportunities abounded. With the launch plan culminating in a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Tacet was able to deliver more than a 3,400 percent ROI and $640,000 in value and exposure.
